One year ago I mentioned that the Emerald Ash Borer had reached our neighborhood. Today the city is going down our street removing Ash trees. The Ash trees on our street have been infested since last year, but are still half-alive. In the neighborhood east, I noticed a row of five large dead trees, continued on both ends by half-dead trees. The Emerald Ash Borer has also reached Fox Island, which still hasn't recovered from Dutch Elm Disease. And people still wonder why there are some restrictions about moving living things into the country....
