Hi Noel, If you happen to update Safari to 6.0.2 in Mountain Lion they have moved the Reader.html to a new location. It is located at /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/Safari.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Safari.html There is still a Safari.html in the old location but it does not control Safari any longer as I found out and then went looking for it.
Probably. That's actually the recommended way to eat pawpaws, but I prefer the texture of barely ripe ones. I used just-barely-ripe pawpaws in the bread because the critters would have gotten them if I hadn't picked them when I did. The ice cream used a couple pawpaws I picked up off the ground (totally ripe, starting to get mushy) and a couple barely ripe ones, so it has a strong pawpaw flavor.

Do you think the flavor would be stronger if the pawpaw was way overripe and nasty like bananas usually are for banana bread?

My instructions are now obsolete, as expected. A developer called Canisbos has created an extension, CustomReader, that allows you to easily customize Safari Reader. Link below.

I've figured it out. You do have to create a Safari extension, so it will require you to sign up for a Safari Developer account with Apple (link below).

https://developer.apple.com/programs/safari/

You need this to get a signed certificate so you can install the extension into Safari. Once you've registered and installed the certificate, open Extension Builder from the Develop menu in Safari and click the plus button at the bottom left corner to create an extension (choose the New Extension... option). You'll be asked to save your extension to a directory... you'll need to create a blank stylesheet in that directory so you can select it in Extension Builder.

Then set up your options roughly as I've shown them in the following pictures:

http://cl.ly/image/1h391X3z3G1d
http://cl.ly/image/1z3Q2D390n1R
http://cl.ly/image/3w1t151m2d0e

For the stylesheet parameter, select the stylesheet you created in your extension directory. Edit the stylesheet accordingly, somewhat like this:

http://cl.ly/image/1C1S140S1J1r

If you notice, you'll need to use !important in certain instances to override the defaults. When you're done creating your stylesheet, click Install in Extension Builder.

Actually, I may have just found the answer. I'm not a web designer or Safari Extension developer, so I can't make any use of this info, but maybe you can. I noticed this blurb on http://www.apple.com/safari/features.html:

\Reader Customization: Extensions can use stylesheets and scripts to change the appearance of articles viewed in Safari Reader.\

And I found this Apple Developer page which appears to explain (in developer speak) where the new Reader files are located and how to change them:

https://developer.apple.com/library/safari/#documentation/Tools/Conceptual/SafariExtensionGuide/WorkingWiththeReader/WorkingWiththeReader.html

I hope this helps!

Hi, Noel. I too am eagerly awaiting the solution for changing the font in Safari 6.0 (and Mountain Lion). I have kept your site bookmarked ever since I found it a year ago, and I commend you for sharing this important resource. (Why is Apple so married to Palatino??!)
